and here is to a whole week of snowboarding. i arrived back in town a couple of days ago, but i had spent 5 days up at sierra summit. there had been a storm earlier this week, so we had plenty of fresh powder and it was blue bird almost all week. awesome conditions. i finally got to use my new snowboard and it was definitely worth it. as i have said before, i have a rome anthem and it handled beautifully. this week, i found a latin phrase on my board. somehow, i had missed it before. the phrase was "non semper erit aestas." i dont speak latin so i had to look it up. the definition i found was: "it will not always be summer." i could not have said it better. talk latter!

my life...

ok, it has been a while since i have posted anything, so i figured i would give you an update of what is goin on in my life. first, and most important, sierra summit has finally opened. not completely open yet, however i'm hoping that will be soon. i am ready for this season and am anticipating that it will be a good one. i have purchased some new junk and can't wait to use it. i have two boards now. i bought the 156 rome anthem as my primary board, then a 163 camp seven. i have never heard of camp seven before, but i got a good deal on it and i was looking for a longer board. something i can take up and use for the pow pow. if it doesn't work out for me... oh well, i guess. i'll just sell it and get a new one.

a couple of my friends and i are planning a week long trip within a couple of weeks. providing, of course, that the resort is open and we have enough snow. but i am really pumped about going and cannot wait. so, i am doing my snow dance pretty much every day. lol although, if you have seen me dance, then maybe that would explain why we havn't gotten anything big yet... maybe i'm just doing it wrong and that is why... anyways... lol

ok, i also bought a new car. i have a 2006 acura tl. and i am loving it. i have had it for about a month and a half and i have no regrets buying it. its an awesome car and it was pretty much loaded with all the features you could get. probably the only thing it didn't have was the windows tinted, so i got that done. it is a midnight blue, but it looks black. i'll have to see about posting some pics. my payments are actually not bad, either. that was also a pleasant surprise.

let's see... what else? i have a playstation 3 now. i am not that great at playing many of the games, but its fun to waste some time here and there. i have the new call of duty modern warfare 2. its a really fun game. i play online and pretty much get my butt kicked. lol my brother plays as well and he is probably a lot better than me. it's kinda sad on my part. lol oh well. and you know you have been playing too much when you are walking down the street and scan the roof tops and windows for snipers. lol umm... not that i do that...

no, actually i am still working like crazy. i work 7 days a week and put in about 65 hours in a week. since august, i have only had about a week off. then, a couple of days scattered here and there. i currently have three jobs, but they are all per diem. nothing full time yet and that's what i'm really wanting. then, i will have some better hours and something a little more steady. as well as benefits... minor issue there... but i am enjoying my job. i am glad i went to school and got that over with, because it is definitely worth it all now. although, with me being the new guy, i get stuck working all the holidays. i guess it isn't too bad though, because i get holiday pay, and that makes up for it.

well, i am finished writing for now. i have work in a couple of hours. i just kinda wanted to give an update on what is going on in my life. so, have fun! and talk latter!

ok, i saw this girl cleaning out her purse and she was pulling out all kinds of junk. on a side note, i really dont know how you girls fit all that stuff inside your purse. so, this girl pulled out a couple of hot wheels cars, some change, various hair clips, hair spray, lip gloss, and candy wrappers. i was just doing my thing (whatever that is) and didnt really see everything else she pulled out. however, she did catch my attention, when she pulled out a 9mm bullet. ok, maybe it wasnt a 9mm necessarily... so, i started "discreetly" watching her. and by that, i mean "openly and obviously watching her, but trying not to get caught and then looking extremely guilty when i did..." kinda like that weird, creepy, stalker watching. lol but, i was waiting to see if she pulled out the gun as well, because that would have been really cool. lol well, either she didnt have the gun on her or she just didnt pull it out (imagine that! i mean why not pull out a gun in public? lol), but i didnt see any gun. never the less, i decided not to mess with her or take any chances. besides, i was prolly freaking her out anyways with all my subtle staring and i didnt feel like her using the pepper spray, that i knew she had, on me. i know, i know... call me crazy...

ok, it is barely sept 3. so much for me sleeping through the month of sept. to the moron who decided to wake me up... thanks. you are now my emeny for life. (and yes, i said emeny. that is because i cant say emeny... uhh... em... whatever. you know what i mean) anyways, yeah, you are an idiot.

partly, i wanted to sleep through sept because i havnt been sleeping very well lately. i cant sleep, so i end up going to bed kinda late. usually somewhere around 3am. then, when i do finally fall asleep, i just toss and turn all night, waking up several times. but the thing is, i have to be at work between 7 and 8. it depends on which place im working on any given day. so yeah, i have been getting behind on my sleep. i was doing pretty good though. i had almost caught up until someone... yeah, bro... you could have at least let me sleep a couple more days...

another reason, was august kinda sucked. nothing exciting really happened during august. and i am sick of summer already. i dont like the heat at all. i wish it were winter and i could just take a drive up to the mountains and go snowboarding and just get away from all this. i really miss that. however, considering i sold my board, i need to buy a new one. i am pretty sure now which one i am going to get. the 157.5 nitro pro light. with the white top. little bit of money right there...

i was told i dont need to sleep through the month of sept because i might miss something important. hmm... nah, i dont think so. ok, what if i am awake, but just sleepwalking? then, i can go through my day and do what i need to do, but dont have to worry about anything else. actually, that sounds pretty good to me. then, i can still work and get my paycheck and, by october, ill have a little bit of cash. i think that will work... and besides, i will be that much closer to winter. looking better already.

well, i am working 7 days a week and, so far, it is going pretty good. im tired, as you already know, but the paycheck is definitely nice. it didnt take long to get used to that. after not having one for 2 yrs, it is really nice to get it now. i am actually able to buy things now. it feels wierd... lol

anyways, i am done for now. i had a couple other things to say, but i dont exactly remember what it was. so, i guess ill post it latter. aight then. talk latter! have fun!

my exam

ok, i have not been on here in a while. i apologize, but i have been very busy lately. as you know, i graduated from college. however, i still had some classes to finish up. well, july 17 was my last day of school. so, i am now officially done with college. well, unless i decide to go on to do something else.

so july 17 was officialy my last day of school. that was also the soonest day i could schedule to take my national exam for the radiology program. i am sure you know how much i hate studying. unfortunately, that was what i spent quite a bit of my time doing. i will be honest though. i only spent that last week studying. well, like actually studying, i mean. the weeks leading up to it, i studied somewhat. not really, though... even that last week before my exam, it was so hard to actually sit there to concentrate and study. yeah... it was very hard. it all paid off though.

i took my exam on july 17, as i said before. i passed with a 95. the highest score anyone is able to get is a 99, so that made me feel good. very relieved, actually. now, i can start working and making money. i will be doing the same thing i have been doing for the last 2 years. i will just be getting paid for it now.

the exam was 220 questions, including pilot questions. pilot questions are questions that do not count against your score if you answer them wrong. they are questions that are meant to challenge you, as well as allowing the ARRT (american registry of radiologic technologists) to come up with new questions for the exam. so, basically, they were using me as a guinea pig for the students next year. lol the exam was very easy, though. barely 20 minutes into the test, i was already on question 150. so, i decided to slow down a little bit. i still had plenty of time when i was finished. after all, they gave me 3 hours. for 220 questions, it usually takes me about 30-45 minutes. more than enough time... tests are usually pretty easy for me. i am a good guesser.

so, after the exam, i went out of town. i was a counselor for a kids camp for a week. yeah... lol i will be honest, i went up there expecting a vacation. it was not what i got. not even close! lol oh well... i get back home and my certificate is already waiting for me. so, i went down to the hospital and clinic where i am going to be working. i got it all sorted out and i start work tomorrow. which makes me very happy. i really want that paycheck! lol

what i've done...

ok, so i have not been on here for a while, so i guess i need to give you an update on my life. i know i was on here a couple days ago, but not to post anything significant. so, here i go. i dont know how long it will be or what all i will say, but... oh well.

well, i guess my big thing is that i have graduated from college. i have my associate's in radiologic technology. i actually have three graduations. somehow, i graduated with highest honors, so i had a graduation with the honor class. i think my gpa was somewhere around a 3.8 but i am not sure. then, i had the regular graduation. i didnt go to either one, though. just because i am a bum. lol i don't know why i didn't go, but i just didnt feel like it. my third graduation is actually going to be a dinner graduation. that is the one celebrating the actual graduation from the radiology program. i will be going to that one though.

so, i have graduated from college. i still have to finish my required internship hours though. so, i have about 5 weeks left. then, i can take my national test. that is the big one. it will determine if i have wasted the last two years of my life. so, it is a pretty important test, so i guess i should be studying. oh well... i still have a couple weeks. besides, i am sure you know how i feel about studying. lol well, if you have read my prior posts, that is.

already, i wish summer were over. lately, i have really been wanting to go snowboarding. it seems like forever since i have gone. we have no snow even remotely close to here, so it might be a little difficult to go. lol another reason is i sold my snowboard. it did not go too far though. i just sold it to my brother. i was selling it and he said he wanted it, so, ok... i gave it to him cheap and figured if i needed it, then i could just borrow it. but, i have been looking at a couple of boards and i think i know which one i want. for demo day last season, i demoed a few boards and really liked the way the rome anthem felt. so, i think that is the board i will get next. well, after i get a job... lol that will be the deciding factor. i just might be borrowing my old board back. lol that would suck!

movies and books

not too long ago, c2 and i were talking about movies and we came to the same conclusion.  now, honestly, i do not remember the last movie i saw.  it has been quite a while since i have watched one and i do not plan to watch another any time soon.  i'll tell you why.  when i was younger, i used to have a very vivid imagination.  i used to read many different books.  many different types, styles, genres...  when i read, i could place myself within that story and imagine what it was actually like.  books would cause me to actually think.  to think about what i was reading and then to understand it.  books are able to stimulate the mind and stimulate it in ways a movie will never be able to.  now, i understand that there are some movies out there that are interesting and are produced in an attempt to stimulate the mind out of its lethargic state.  however, those seem to be few and far between.  most movies today are produced with entertainment purposes.  but, no matter how they try, movies will never be able to stimulate the mind in ways that a books can.  while watching a movie, i dont have to think about what is going on.  i just sit there and watch whatever is on the screen in front of me.  right in front of my very eyes, it steals away my creativity and imagination.  when i did begin reading again, i was surprised at how difficult it was to imagine and to try to bring that story to life within my mind.  it was almost as if i were struggling with myself, unable to obtain a clear visual.  c2 and i both find ourselves dismayed, and maybe even disgusted, at there ever-increasing number of "mindless drones," if you will.  people who say, "forget the book, i'll just wait for the movie."  and then, the movie is actually a very poor rendition of the book.  these are the people who never open a book outside of the classroom.  it is apalling the number of people i talk to, who consider this to be normal.  as if reading is not something that is for everyone.  how long before the majority of the public are unable to read and are forced to believe everything that is told to them, just as it were in the dark ages?  it is called the dark ages for a reason...  i hope it does not get that bad, but with the slipping standards of today, it does makes me wonder...  well, i did not mean to get up on my soapbox and preach at you. lol  please dont get me wrong.  i am not condoning anyone for watching movies.  however, i do believe, that movies are causing us to become more and more lazy.  if you want to watch them, then fine.  you are in charge of your own life.  but please understand why i can never watch another movie.  i nearly lost my own self to my laziness and i cannot allow that to happen again.  also, don't talk down to me for choosing not to watch movies, and then threatening our friendship over this.  staements like that cause me to question the reality of our friendship in the first place.  if you want to watch it, then fine.  just please accept the fact that i am not going to and then, understand why i am not going to.  okay, i'm done.  lol  have fun!  talk latter!

aircraft pilots and mechanics

just in case you need a laugh:

ok, so it takes a college degree to fly a plane... but only a high school diploma to fix one. that does not make alot of sense to me and i dont think it would be very reassuring for anyone flying.  here is something i read about aircraft pilots and their mechanics.

after every flight, qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about any problems with the aircraft. the mechanics correct the problems and then document their repairs on the form.  the pilots then review the gripe sheets before the next flight.  after reading this, never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by "maintenance engineers." by the way, qantas is the only major airline that has never had an accident.  if that makes any difference to you... i mean, just maybe...  lol  anyways, here we go:

whatever i feel like...

i have not been on here in a while, so i figured i would just write something.  first of all, it is a beautiful day outside.  it is like God knew exactly what He was doing when He made it...  its like He is God or something...  so wierd...  anyways... that brings up another subject.  if i can type.  i am having so much trouble right now.  lol  all right, a couple of weeks ago, i was listening to a comedian and he was talking about the book of Genesis and the creation of the world.  he brought up a couple of points that were really good.  things that i had never noticed before.  Genesis 1:1 says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  verse 2 says that darkness was upon the face of the deep.  so that means, He created this world IN THE DARK.  that is so incredible to me.  i mean, i can barely tie my own shoes in the dark and He created the universe in the dark.  He put everything in place, and then stepped back and said, "all right, lets take a look now."  and then, God invented light.  its not like He had seen it somewhere else and decided that He wanted that back on earth.  its not like He had seen twilight, and thought, "oh that would be great if it were a little bit brighter."  He completely did this all...  it just blasts my mind... (yes, it blasted my mind.  anything can blow your mind, but it takes a little bit more to blast it.  lol)  anyways, that is so awesome to me.

well, i have my cast off now.  and i am so glad about that.  i was so sick of that thing.  my wrist hurts more now, but i think its just cause i have not been using it.  so, i will just give it a couple more days.  then, one of my friends got hurt snowboarding.  he actually got taken home in an ambulance.  he is cool now, but he ended up separating his shoulder and bruising his spine.  he does kinda have an excuse though.  he fell on the biggest jump they had up at sierra summit and he was trying to do a backflip.  well, that is what he told me.  lol  but he is out for a while now.  bummer...  its alot more fun when you have more people up there.  well, i have to go now.  its almost time for class.  a beautiful day and i have to spend it indoors... talk latter!

me

ok so i have had an intersting couple of weeks.  and by that, i guess i mean a couple of eventful days in my last couple of weeks.  to start out with, i have been snowboarding quite a bit recently.  well, i ended up breaking my wrist.  that sucked.  to be honest, i dont even remember what exactly happened.  all i remember was going off a box and then, the next thing i knew, i was facefirst in the snow and my wrist was killing me.  it all happened so fast.  so i am in a cast now.  oh joy...

the next thing is really cool.  i saved a person's life today.  ok, maybe not his life, but from serious damage.  he had come into the department for a routine chest x-ray.  he was fine when he came in, talking and joking and all that stuff.  so i was getting him set up for the pictures, when all the sudden he just changed.  he got all hot and clammy, and then he stopped responding to anything i was saying.  all the sudden, he just started falling backwards.  i was like, "oh no...!"  the way he was falling, he was going to hit his head on the edge of the table and then hit the ground.  and, with just the way he was falling, it looked like he was going to hit hard.  luckily, i was close enough that i was able to catch him and was able to stop his head from hitting.  that could have been a disaster, but thankfully nothing bad happened.  well, nothing too bad at least...  so that was my excitement for the day.  lol  well, i am going to go now.  i have play practice for our church's easter drama.  so have fun!  talk latter!

ok, when i saw this quote, i knew it was for me. for the past little while, i have really been going through some things in my life. i had had my whole life planned out; everything down to the letter. but a couple of things had happened to me, that had completely shattered all those plans. part of me was just holding on to the thin rays of hope that it was going to be ok and everything was going to go back to normal, back to the way i had planned. but that is not the way life works out. there is a God in Heaven that knows me better than i know myself and He knows what is best for me. its ok to make plans for the future, but i need to be willing to change them according to His will. i know that He knows what is best for me and that His will will make me happier than anything i could ever do on my own. i have always heard this talked about before, but i never truly understood. now, i understand and i feel completely at peace about it. anyways, hope you have fun! talk latter!

ok... well it has been a little while since i have posted anything and i apologize for that. i have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks. it has been fun though.
after christmas, i went with a friend and his family to dodge ridge for some snowboarding. his family owns a cabin up there and i was able to stay with them. now, ill be honest with you, i have not been snowboarding in a couple of years. the last time i had gone, i had broken my wrist. so, i wanted to go, but i wasnt sure if something was going to happen this time. well, nothing happened and i had alot of fun. i just about killed my legs though. lol they really felt like they were about to fall off. they were just giving out on me. but it was fun. lol so after that, i went back with them to their house in santa cruz and stayed with them until after new years. had a little fun with that also.
well, when i got back home, a couple other friends started talking about going snowboarding. i was like, "ok! i had fun, so ill do it again." so i went again. this time wasnt as bad on my legs though. lol and i think i was able to have more fun too... just because of that. so... we will probably be going back up pretty soon. maybe next week, but we are not sure yet.
i am back in school now. getting up early again was not as bad as i thought it would be. not sure what was up with that, but im not going to complain. lol also, getting back into the groove was not as hard as i thought. now, grant it, i have only been back for two days now. so i hope im not speaking too soon. lol
ok, i had said i was busy, but just reading what i have written, it doesnt sound like i have been that busy. lol oh well... maybe i wasnt, but it seemed like it at the time.
