on a side note, i understand a good joke. i am as fond of joking as much as the next guy. however, there is a big difference in joking and straight-up lying. don't confuse the two.

lying...
why do people think they have to lie about certain things? especially about things that can be found out very easily. i understand the whole 10 commandment issue of "thou shalt not lie." however, that is not what i am talking about here. people lie. if someone is going to find out the truth (whether from you or from someone else), and it is obvious they are going to, then why not just tell them the truth in the first place? don't let them find out from someone else. especially if it concerns that individual. i am just baffled by the outright lies i hear people say straight to someone's face. when this happens to me, i am more irritated with the fact that they lied to me then by whatever it was they lied about. it's not cool how you are lying, and i know the truth. seriously, just tell me the truth. i have put up with more than enough of my fair share of lies. (and, yes, i am talking to you. if you do have to ask, then it is probably not you.) if you ask me, i'll be straight-up with you. i have nothing to prove and nobody to impress. if you don't want the truth, then don't ask me. but, at least have the courtesy to tell me the truth as well. like i said, i put up with enough lies, i am not going to do it again.

I know what you mean. There are a lot of reasons why people lie but it doesn't make it right. Perhaps they just don't care if people trust them or not.
Willie, in my humble opinion, when someone lies to us it is a serious thing, and shows the greatest lack of respect. There are ways of telling the truth to a person without hurting them--although sometimes, it might hurt. Proverbs tells us, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend." The best way to be a friend and to HONOR a person, is to "speak the truth in love." I don't know who or what inspired you to write this, but I am so sorry you were hurt by deception.
